About

I'm a PhD candidate studying biological anthropology. I received my Master's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My thesis topic included the osteological, paleopathological, and craniometric analyses on a group of Chinese Americans from the late 19th century. My primary interest at the PhD level is in the understanding of population history and structure of Mongolia in the Xiongnu period (300 B.C. - 200 A.D.) using population genetic models developed for quantitative traits. Using a comparative approach that incorporates results from genetics (mtDNA, Y chromosome, STRs, RFLPs) and a geometric morphometric methodology that attempts to quantify craniofacial variation, my dissertation seeks to understand nomadic population relationships through time in and around Mongolia.
